A different kind of romance
FOR LOVE OF BILLIE isn’t a typical romance. It is more about a young boy’s crush that lasts into adulthood, the effects it has on other relationships, and how he learns to move on.
While the main character has his share of romance, this is more of a coming of age story, as it mostly takes place during his teen and young adult years.
The book is refreshing as it delves into each character’s emotions and motivations rather than just focusing on one romantic relationship.
It would make a great book club read as it inspires debate on several topics, and the author even provides discussion questions at the end.
